Thank you to my paid subscribers! This essay is from a writing class I took in 2021. Each week, we were given a writing prompt. We’d take about 40-45 minutes to write our essays and finish class by reading our drafts aloud and receiving feedback from the class. It was intimidating to read my unedited work aloud!
WRITING PROMPT: WRITE ABOUT YOUR SCARS
1. My Part Line
It was the first time I faced death. Well, I thought I was facing death. My head wound was every bit as dramatic as me, gushing obnoxiously over the smallest of cuts, a red mountain of ooze over a molehill.
My sister and I were making our parents breakfast in bed, a Saturday morning adventure we enjoyed occasionally. I jumped onto the kitchen counter to get a cereal box but met the corner of the cupboard door at full force on my way up.
